Persona Mirana Dota 2: Hero Guide

Persona is a unique cosmetic item that completely changes the animation and appearance of a hero in Dota 2. Unlike items of quality from Common to Arcane, Personas have a much greater impact. In fact, Personas create new characters with their own lore and story. The only thing that remains the same are the character's abilities.

Personas first appeared in Dota 2 in 2019, with the release of the "Acolyte of the Lost Arts" item for Invoker. Since then, 6 more Personas have been added to Dota 2, including a Mirana Persona, one of the main characters in the Netflix animated series "DOTA: Blood of the Dragon ''.

We decided to talk more about the Mirana Persona and the hero itself. We will tell you how it appeared in the game, and what it conveyed, and in addition we will make a guide to the game on Mirana. We hope it will be useful – let's go!

When and how Persona on Mirana came out in Dota 2

Persona on Mirana appeared in Dota 2 in December 2021, along with the release of Aghanim's Labyrinth Battle Pass in the game. Mirana of Nightsilver was the reward for pumping the Battle Pass up to level 135.

Mirana of Nightsilver was the second item added to Dota 2 after the release of DOTA: Blood of the Dragon. Prior to that, a Persona on Dragon Knight, another anime character from Netflix, was added to the game.

How to get Persona on Mirana in Dota 2

The only way to get Persona on Mirana in Dota 2 was to pump Aghanim's Labyrinth Battle Pass to level 135. Since Battle Pass rewards cannot be traded or purchased on the Steam Marketplace, Persona became an exclusive reward. However, in 2023, Dota 2 players had another opportunity to add Mirana of Nightsilver to their inventory.

In August 2023, Valve began celebrating the tenth anniversary of their brainchild. In honor of Dota 2's anniversary, the Treasure of the 10-Year Anniversary appeared in the game. It contained 13 rewards.

Each item referred to a specific event in the history of Dota 2. One of the rewards was an alternate version of the Mirana of Nightsilver Persona. It differs from the original item in color: instead of the classic dark blue, it was now white.

That is, you could get it simply by winning Dota 2 matches. It, like all other Treasure of the 10-Year Anniversary awards, randomly fell out of the chest after winning a match.

As of October 2023, it is not possible to get the Mirana Persona. However, it is possible that in the future it will be possible to get Mirana of Nightsilver, as Valve is actively developing a line of Persona cosmetic kits. We've seen this with Invoker, who has already received several sets for his young alter ego, and Wei, the Anti Mage persona.

Guide to Mirana: abilities, talents, position in the game, pumping

Having dug into the history of one of the most famous cosmetic items on Princess of the Moon, we offer you a brief character guide. If you are the owner of the Mirana of Nightsilver item and often poke Mirana in your matches, these paragraphs will be useful for you.

Mirana's Abilities

Mirana has a fairly simple skill set by the standards of modern Dota 2:

  • Starstorm.

Summons a rain of stars that deals damage to nearby enemies. The nearest enemy within 650.0 radius will receive a second hit dealing 75.0% of normal damage.

  • Sacred Arrow

Fires an incredibly accurate arrow that stuns the first creature in its path for 0.0 sec. and deals damage. The distance traveled by the arrow increases both the damage, which can reach 150.0, and the duration of the stun, which will last up to 2.6 sec. Instantly kills any creep unless it is ancient.

  • Leap

The hero leaps forward, encouraged by his pet's ferocious roar, giving him an additional 4.0 sec of attack and movement speed.

  • Moonlight Shadow

Makes the ability's wielder and his allied heroes invisible and speeds them up. If invisibility is unlocked, it will be restored after a delay if the ability is still active.

Mirana Talents

Almost all of Mirana's talents, with the exception of one talent at level 20, enhance her abilities. Common talents include an additional 45 damage at 20th level.

Talent Tree:

  • 10th level: +125 to range of Leap/ -2 sec cooldown of Sacred Arrow.15th level: + 80 to attack speed from Leap/ Moonlight Shadow gives +20% to evasion.
  • Level 20: +45 to damage/ -20 sec recharge of Moonlight Shadow.
  • Level 25: +250 damage to Starstorm/ + 2 arrows from Sacred Arrow.

The talent branch depends on the position you choose.

Mirana's position in the game

As Dota 2 has evolved, so has Mirana's role on the Ancient Battlefield. For a very long time, the character was used as a carry, that is, as the first position. The most common way to see Mirana in position one was back in the first DotA.

Over time, most players have come to realize that she lacks the typical attributes of a carry: she farms quite slowly, doesn't farm much due to her abilities, and her character growth leaves much to be desired. And so it turned out that Mirana's new assignment was the position of a Starrot.

At first, Mirana was picked to the fourth position, that is, roaming. The idea is simple: Mirana has a global ability with long control and surprise effect - Sacred Arrow - which means she can move around the lines and help her teammates. That was until Sneyking, the champion of The International 11, showed Mirana to position five.

Mirana's strength as a "ѕuperpower nanny" is in the tangible burst-e with the help of Starstorm. We talk more about this variant of Mirana below.

Mirana Build

The goal of ѕuрроrt's fifth position is to provide comfortable farming to his carry. With the addition of universal character type heroes to the game, Mirana has become more comfortable with this task. In addition, Starstorm, which deals a lot of damage to a single target, helps a lot in this, which will allow her to barter favorably with the enemy caliper. However, there is still the option to take Sacred Arrow at level one to gain additional control and take the Wealth Rune.

How to play Mirana: items, useful counters

Some players mistakenly think that Mirana is a difficult hero. All because of the notorious Sacred Arrow, which requires a certain amount of skill to hit. However, after Mirana moved from the "Dodger" category to the "Universal" category, she has become less demanding in terms of accuracy and is able to make an impact without total reliance on Sacred Arrow.

In the early stages of the game, be sure to trade health with your vis-a-vis. Since Mirana is versatile, items that give a boost to stats enhance the Princess of the Moon many times over. With Starstorm and range, Mirana is able to win 1-on-1 skirmishes, and Blood Grenade will give her the ability to make kills.

Mirana's item collection is pretty basic. We try to get into stats (it can be Spirit Vessel or Drums of Endurance) and buy items for the team: Mekansm, Pavise, Force Staff, and so on. In the middle of the game you can buy Eul, which will allow you to do the Eul + Sacred Arrow combo.

To summarize, we would highlight the following items for at the initial stage of Mirana:

  • Iron Branch (x3)
  • Circlet
  • Tango (x1)
  • Mango (x2)
  • Blood Grenade

Branches improve into Magic Wand, a boot is added later, and Circlet can evolve into Urn of Shadows. By 10 minutes into the game, you'll have something like this:

  • Magic Wand
  • Boots of Speed
  • Urn of Shadows

Then there's a lot of room for creativity. You can buy Mekans + Arcane Boots, if no one in the team goes to the auras, you can improve Urn of Shadows to Spirit Vessel, which will give an increase in characteristics, and at the same time seriously raise the damage. Mirana reaches the late game with the following set of items:

  • Magic Wand
  • Guardian Greeves
  • Force Staff/Eul
  • Lotus/Glimmer Cape
  • Hex

When collecting items, it is important to assess the situation and keep an eye on your allies' builds. Experimentation, as always in Dota 2, is welcome, but you should not overdo it.

How to learn how to play Mirana

Obviously, to learn how to play Mirana you need a lot of practice, and it's also important to follow the trends and watch the games of professionals. We can recommend Sneyking, who introduced Mirana in his time and turned the classic "four" into a full-fledged character of the fifth position.

Conclusion

Mirana can be called one of the most unique characters in The International. Her uniqueness can be seen in her importance to the world of Dota 2: she was one of the first to receive an exclusive cosmetic item - Mirana of Nightsilver - and became the heroine of an animated series based on Dota 2. An interesting character due to the mechanics of her abilities and map capabilities.
