Aurora Gaming - kazanan CCT South Europe Series 2
/CCT South Europe Series 2 has come to an end. As part of the championship, which was held online from January 14 to 26, 24 teams from Europe and the CIS competed for a total prize pool of $50,000, as well as rating points. The winner of the tournament was the Aurora Gaming team, which unexpectedly outplayed the Bad News Eagles in the grand final with a score of 2:1 (Overpass - 16:12; Mirage - 10:16; Anubis - 16:6).
The Russian team held an exemplary championship, during which they did not suffer a single defeat. Having started in the Swiss stage, the team turned out to be stronger than Websterz (2:1), Tricked Esport (2:0) and GODSENT (2:0), making it to the playoffs with the best seed.
Here, Aurora Gaming first coped with Movistar Riders (2:0), and then outplayed Partizan Esports (2:0) and GamerLegion (2:1), making it to the grand final. In the final match of the competition, the Starix wards were stronger than the Bad News Eagles (2:1), thanks to which they became the champions of CCT South Europe Series 2 and earned a prize of $22,000.
Thanks to this victory, the team got closer to getting into the CCT South Europe Finals #1, which will take place later in the spring. Aurora Gaming earned 150 rating points for winning the championship. The best player in the competition was Norwi, who finished the championship with an amazing rating of 1.34.
