The first gaming day of the playoffs within the ongoing PGL Arlington Major 2022 has come to an end, which means that it's time to discuss how the teams performed in the opening confrontations.

Recall that in the first matches PSG.LGD fought against BOOM Esports, Entity opposed players from OG, Outsiders fought against Team Spirit, but Team Aster played against Fnatic.

The first match between PSG.LGD and BOOM Esports took place at a fairly fast pace. The first map was played completely under the dictation of the Chinese team and ended with a score of 31-11 in 34 minutes. The second map was almost the same as the first one, and there Ame and his teammates defeated the opponents in almost 40 minutes with a similar result - 37-15.

In the second match, Entity had a good fight with OG and even took one card from them, but in the end they failed to defeat Yuragi and the company. The start was good. On the first map, Entity won with a score of 32-10 in 27 minutes, but on the second map they already started to have serious problems. The team was unable to defeat OG and in 42 minutes they were defeated with a score of 27-32. The third map was decisive and went pretty quickly. In 30 minutes, OG took the win, making 27 frags while their opponents Entity made only 11. Thus, OG advanced to the semi-finals of the upper bracket, where they will face the previously victorious PSG.LGD.

In the third confrontation, Team Spirit, experiencing some problems, won. The first map ended in one hour with a score of 36-25 in favor of the Outsiders. On the second map, the confrontation was also long and ended in 56 minutes and ended with a score of 35-24 in favor of Team Spirit. After the teams brought the confrontation to the third map, everything ended there quite quickly. Team Spirit prevailed again, but this time it happened quite quickly, namely in 38 minutes with a score of 24-13.

The confrontation between Team Aster and Fnatic went a little faster than expected. Many, including us, expected that Fnatic would be able to pick up at least one card, but this never happened. The first Team Aster card was taken in 56 minutes. It is noteworthy that they managed to make a small comeback, as Fnatic had, albeit a small, but still an advantage. The meeting there ended with a score of 29-24. On the second map, Team Aster from the very beginning started to crush their opponents and snowballed them as they wanted and as best they could. The meeting ended in a matter of minutes with a score of 16-2. Team Aster advanced to the second semi-final match, where they will face Team Spirit.

Recall that the PGL Arlington Major takes place from 4 to 14 August this year. The top 17 teams from around the world compete for the $500,000 prize pool and 4,570 DPC points needed to qualify for The International 2022. The venue is Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas. The winner will receive the main prize of $200,000 and 820 DPC points.
