The skirmishes in the group stage of DreamLeague Season 22 continue. And we continue to follow the twists and turns of events in Group A, where teams continue to fight for 4 spots in the playoffs.

Doing so are Virtus.pro and G2.IG. But for now, the teams have quite different positions in the tournament table.

The updated G2.IG roster performed great in the group stage of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023. The Chinese team topped Group B, losing only one map. In the first playoff match, G2.IG faced Gaimin Gladiators. In an intense match, one of the best teams of the past season – GG – proved to be stronger and closed the series with a score of 2-1.

Dropping to the lower bracket of Kuala Lumpur 2023, the team lost to BB Team and exited the championship. In the end, G2.IG finished Top 8 at the first major tournament of the season.

After that, G2.IG played in 3 qualifying tournaments. BB Dacha 2024: CN and SEA Closed Qualifiers, where they finished Top 8, DL Season 22: China Qualifier, where they finished Top 2, and ESL One Birmingham 2024: China Closed Qualifier, where they finished first.

G2.IG started DreamLeague Season 22 horribly. The team played two series and lost both with a score of 0-2.G2.

Vp's Form

Vp qualified for The International 2023 through qualifiers in Eastern Europe. In the grand final, they defeated One Move with a score of 3-0.

The International 2023 is going quite well for Vp. Being one of the main candidates for elimination from the tournament, Vp secured 4th place in Basket C, thus making it to the playoffs.

In the match before that, Virtus.pro played for seeding in the playoffs against TSM. Being the second seed there, the 4th team from Eastern Europe fairly easily defeated their counterparts, unexpectedly to, perhaps, everyone.

The match between Spirit and Vp turned out to be surprisingly interesting. What was supposed to end with an easy 2-0 in favor of the "dragons" turned into a struggle, where Spirit had to come back from a 0-1 deficit in the series.

Next, Vp ran into BB Team in the Top 8 match of The International 2023, and that was the end of their journey at the main tournament of the year. After that, there were performances at much less prestigious tournaments, such as Pinnacle: 25 Year Anniversary Show, victory in qualifiers for BB Dacha, DL Season 22, Top 3 at ESL Birmingham 2024: EEU Qualifiers, and Top 12 at BB Dacha Dubai 2024.

Vp started DreamLeague Season 22 quite well. Vp defeated Heroic and played 1-1 against BB Team.
