Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to follow the action in South Korea. Battles are raging there as part of the LCK regional finals.
The tournament is, to put it mildly, very important, because at stake are two slots at Worlds 2024. And one of them is claimed by KT Rolster and FearX.
The winner of the KT Rolster - FearX pairing will advance to the next round of the lower bracket, where they will play the loser of the T1/DPlus KIA pairing to advance to Worlds 2024, while the loser of this match will leave the championship with nothing.
Let's go.
KT Rolster uniforms
Let's open the KT Rolster vs FearX match with an analysis of KT Rolster's form. In this match they will play as favourites with odds to win at around 1.3.
In 2022, KT Rolster finished top 7 at LCK Spring 2022 and top 5 at LCK Summer 2022. The main "achievement" was getting to the TOP-4 Regional Finals, but it was of no use: they didn't make it to the Worlds 2022 anyway.
The new season was better. In the first LCK Spring 2023 KT Rolster climbed all the way to the top 3. They were only beaten by Gen.G, who knocked out Bdd and company with a score of 1-3.
- KT Rolster lineup: PerfecT, Pyosik, Bdd, Deft, BeryL.
At LCK Summer 2023 KT Rolster clearly want to at least repeat the result of the spring. In the group stage, KT rolled over all of their opponents, closing it out with a score of 17-1.
In the first round of play-offs KT Rolster chose T1 as their opponent. Confident after a successful group stage, KT Rolster stumbled against T1 and lost the match with a score of 2-3.
In the first round of the lower grid KT Rolster met HLE, who fell there after an uninspiring loss to Gen.G. The match with KT ended with an identical scenario: 0-3 and here KT Rolster are.
Once in the bottom of the grid, Rolster first defeated Hanwha Life Esports (3-0) and then played T1 again. This time the win was even closer as KT Rolster led 2-0, but T1 was there to reverse sweep and turn the series 3-2 in their favour.
KT Rolster made it to the 2023 Worlds via the South Korean regional finals. KT Rolster played one series and that was against Hanwha Life Esports. Winning the match was no problem and Rolster joined T1 and Gen.G in the main event and home tournament of the year.
Rolster opened the World Championship itself with a match against BLG, who they lost to. Two wins followed, first defeating fellow regionals Dplus and then beating Weibo Gaming.
At 2-1, KT Rolster faced LNG Esports and lost 1-2. In the play-offs match, Rolster played their compatriots from DPlus and ran over them 2-0 without much trouble.
However, KT Rolster failed to advance beyond the first round of the play-offs. They ran into JD Gaming and lost 1-3, thus ending their Worlds appearances in the top 8.
KT Rolster finished the LCK Spring 2024 regular season in 4th place with a score of 11-7. In the play-offs, however, they reached the Top 5, Ledgeiv DPlus KIA in a match to advance to the Top 4.
In play-offs LCK Summer 2024 KT Rolster from the 5th place, having played the regular season with the score 9-9. Having entered play-offs LCK Summer 2024, KT Rolster in the first round fell to T1 and lost with the score 1-3 left the championship. At the end of LCK Summer 2024 KT Rolster were ranked in the top 5.

FearX Form
We continue the analysis of the match FearX - KT Rolster with the analysis of FearX form. In this match they play as an outsider with odds to win around 3.1.
FearX is a relatively new name on the LCK. The team shone on the competitive scene back in 2018, but got to LCK 2024 through the merger of Liiv Sandbox and SANDBOX Gaming, which is what we will rely on when analysing FearX.
Having been on the competitive scene since 2018, they started playing on LCK in 2019. First it was Top 5 at LCK Spring 2019, followed by Top 4 at LCK Summer 2019 and Top 3 at Regional Finals 2019, which wasn't enough to attend Worlds 2019.
What followed was a string of failed performances and playing at TIR tournaments. Things started to turn around in 2021 when FearX, while still Liiv Sandbox placed Top 4 at Regional Finals.
It wasn't going badly in 2022 when SANDBOX were one step away from Worlds. First they finished top 3 at LCK Summer 2022 and then top 3 at Regional Finals, Ledgeiv DRX at 2-3, failing to make it to Worlds. By the way, DRX won Worlds that year, so there you go.
2023, on the other hand, was a flop, after a pretty good showing the previous season. LCK Spring 2023 was top 6, and LCK Summer 2023 was top 7.
- FearX lineup: Clear, Willer, Clozer, Hena, Execute.
FearX changed their roster significantly during the November 2023 transfer window. Clear, Clozer, Hena and Execute joined the team, while jungler Willer remained the only player from the previous roster.
At LCK Spring 2024, FearX finished in the top 7, failing to make it to the championship play-offs. However, they managed to make it to the main stage of LCK Summer 2024, finishing in a borderline 6th place with a score of 8-10. In the first round of the LCK Summer 2024 play-offs they played against DPlus KIA, where they lost with a score of 1-3 and finished in the top 6 of the championship.
Most Chosen FearX Champions
KSante (7 games, 42% wins) remains the most popular character on the top line. Gnar (6 games, 83% wins), Fiora (5 games, 60% wins) are also taken.
On foresters there is nothing fundamentally new: Sejuani (7 matches, 57% wins), Wukong (6 matches, 66% wins), Maokai (4 games, 100% wins).
In the centre, the favourite patch champion is Azir (7 matches, 85% wins). Beside him are Akali (4 games, 25% wins), Sylas (4 games, 75% wins).
The most favoured ADC is Varus (6 matches, 66% wins). Lucian (4 games, 100% wins) and Ashe with Caitlyn (3 games and 66% wins each) are also popular.
Among support players Heimerdinger (5 games, 60% wins), Karma (4 games, 50% wins), Ashe (3 games, 66% wins), Nami (3 games, 100% wins) stand out.

Predicted result of KT Rolster vs FearX at LCK Summer 2024
In this match I expect a roughly equal fight from the two teams. Although KT Rolster is nominally much stronger, FearX can fight and take a card or even two. However, I will still bet on KT Rolster.
Bottom line: KT Rolster wins with a score of 3-1.
