Guide on Harbor — Latest Agent in VALORANT
Elen StelmakhWe will continue our series about agents from VALORANT. Now it is Harbor’s turn — the latest added character whose universal skill set is capable of causing trouble for his opponent.
Harbor appeared in the game at the end of 2022, so many players did not have a chance to try out the skill set of the specialist in practice yet. However, Riot Games does a lot to provide players with genuinely interesting agents with a great skill set.
It may seem that Harbor’s skill set remotely resembles the skill sets of other agents. However, in fact the new character opens more opportunities for teams’ interactions which VALORANT is known for.
This is why we offer to talk about Harbor — tell about the agent’s skills in detail and give several tips for great gaming experience.
Harbor’s skill set
High Tide
The signature skill that is given to the player at the beginning of each round. With the help of High Tide, Harbor can cover some parts of the map and slow down any player who went through the tide.
Therefore, we get something between “Blaze” from Phoenix and “Toxic Screen” from Viper. However, Harbor’s High Tide reveals itself much more and does not damage the opponents intermittently.
On the other hand, the signature skills will enable you to slow down your opponents, blocking their movements. Obviously, High Tide is incredibly effective when you are getting to the plant and keeping the position. However, you need to remember that opponents can shoot any positions through the wall, so you always have to be alert.
Another important feature is time of action. High Tide is active for only 15 seconds and after that the player will have to wait for a recharge of the ability. So, you always have to keep track of time and apply the skill at a crucial moment.
How to play: press LMB to release water onto the ground. Hold LMB to move water towards the aim and create a wall along the trajectory. Press RMB to stop water movement.
Key fears:

Cove
Another ability functions as a vision limitation and slows the opponents down. The main specialty of Cove is a shield which prevents players from shooting through into enemy players that are placed in the zone of the water ball.
However it is vital to consider that the defense sphere of Cove protects you only temporarily, so it can always be destroyed. However, the ability helps cover the positions effectively for planting and disabling a spike.
Also, if the opponent destroy the define sphere, the ability disappears soon. So counting on Cove as an alternative to smoke grenades is a bad idea.
Therefore, Harbor buys some time for his team in a way and also blocks the view to the opponents and creates a temporary barrier, defending from shots.
How to play: Press LMB to throw the defense water sphere that absorbs shots and blocks the view for opponents. Press LMB to make a throw from underneath.
Key features:
- Cost — 350 credits
- Quantity — one
- Duration — 15 seconds
- Health — 500 HP
- Time for opening — 1 second
Cascade
The next ability includes several functions. The first of them is view block. The second is covering while taking important positions on the map.
There is no point in stopping at the first option as the value of any similar wall is significant and understood by lots of people. As for the second function, Harbor can release Cascade in front of himself and get through enemy enforcement, pushing them far away.
Facing the water, players slow down and become more vulnerable in open shootings. You should not forget that Harbor can control tide movements, stopping it at the right moment. Moreover, the wall can go through walls which will definitely come in handy in closed locations.
However, the main disadvantage of Cascade is its movement ib the straight trajectory. But we should not forget that opponents can easily shoot the player through the wall.
How to play: Press LMB to send the wall in the straight trajectory. Use the skill again to stop further movement of the tide. Players will slow down, facing the tide.
Key feature:
- Cost — 150 Credits
- Quantity — twp
- Duration — 7 seconds
- Duration of the tide — 4,75 seconds
- Duration of the slowdown effect — 0,5 second
Reckoning
The ultimate skill that becomes available for a player after they get 7 points. Reckoning helps Harbor to activate an artifact that forms a geyser lake on the ground. All opponents who are in the zone of action of the skill get stunned.
However, it is important to consider special feature of the skill:
- One person in the radius of action of the ultimate can get three geyser strikes in total
- The ultimate skill is always released a few meters in front of the agent and cannot be sent over across the whole map
- Reckoning slowly moves forward until the time of the action runs out.
How to play: Press LMB to create a geyser lake on the ground. Opponents in the zone of action will be aimed by geyser strikes and get a stunning effect.
Key feature:
- Cost — 7 points
- Duration — 9 seconds
- Total number of geyser strikes — three
- Duration of the stunning effect — 2 seconds
- Stunning delay — 1,3 second
How to play Harbor
Harbor is a new agents whose potential has not been properly explored by the community yet. However, even now we can understand that the abilities of the agent make a great contribution to the team that wants to get a player for cover.
In fact, Harbor is a rather universal agent as he can not only cover a huge number of positions but also teammates as it happens in case with Cove. Also Cascade comes in handy for quick and safe investigation of positions, blocking the view for the opponents.
All Harbor’s advantages are reinforced with an ultimate skill which stumps players on the opposite team, having stunned them.
Harbor adds some unique aspects to the list of specialists. His role will involve choosing the niche for aggressive teams or as a secondary specialist who is in delay. Taking into account all agent’s abilities, Harbor can become a great option for the teams who prefer aggressive gaming style.
However, his abilities will become essential for the teams who calculate all their movements. But we should never forget that any new agent will need harder training. In this case Harbor is not an exception. So spend your time before you start a rating match and get familiar with the skill of the specialist, and also think of possible setups, considering the geometry of the maps.
